Lawrence G. Lenke, MD Co-Chairs 1st Annual COA/SRS Conference

The Chinese Orthopedic Association (COA) and Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) partnered to present a one and one-half day symposium on Spinal Deformity Surgery. The symposium was held during the 6th International Congress of the Chinese Orthopedic Association in the capitol city of Beijing. The symposium was one of the major meeting highlights with more than 400 attendees.

Lawrence G. Lenke, MD, past president of the SRS, co-chaired the event with Noriaki Kawakama, MD of Nagoya, Japan, past president of the Japanese SRS, and Yong Qui, MD, a senior SRS member from Nanjing, China. The highly educational symposium included didactic lectures, case presentations, instructional workshops, and free paper presentations given by Chinese surgeons.

The COA and SRS plan to continue similar international education programs at future COA meetings based on great interest by many surgeons in the Asia-Pacific region who attended the inaugural symposium.
